Azidophenylalanine photosensitivity?

How light-sensitive is azidophenylalanine? Is it safe for short periods of time under indoor lighting, or should it be kept as shielded from light as possible? Also, I understand that proteins containing azidophenylalanine can cross-link. What is the chemistry of this cross-linkage?
