Fleas are eating me alive?

I need help. One night I laid down with my indoor cat. He stays in my room and never leaves it. And by the next night I kept feeling something on my face pinching. I turned on the light to see a flea on my hand. In 2 days I wasn't able to sleep from fleas jumping all over. I bathed my cat with a all natural flea bath because I was told it was the best flea dip. In addition I bought advantage from the vet and gave him a dose. How do I get the fleas killed. I only want to know stuff that's tried and worked. Not something you think would work. My last roommates (before I owned the cat) had fleas so bad from their outdoor dog that flea bombing the entire house twice didn't kill them and I ended up having to move from getting sick from flea bombs. Help me please
