My cats nose is raw and bleeding?

My cat is an indoor cat and we recently just discovered yesterday that his nose was raw and now today its bleeding really bad. The blood is not coming from the inside of his nose, but the nose its self. We can't afford to take him to the vet so hoping to find an easy solution here. He is about 5 years old.
