What would be best for me to do?

Well im 17, about to turn 18, and i figured that when im done with school that i wanted to become a police officer. Im athletic and get good grades. I live in Pennsylvania and i've been researching on some things and saw that im going to need to be in a Municipal Act 120 training program to become one. now what about me being a officer for a local township or what else would be good for me.
