Jack dempsey question?best answer chosen tomorrow?

ok so i have a jack dempsey cichlid in my indoor 100 gallon pond and i wanted to ask how long does it take them to grow bigger. i had mine for about 1 year and he still hasnt grown up at all.the only thing that has changed about him is that he has enhanced his colors.what can i do to help him grow up faster
